Mbarek Lafrem, 30, of Norwood, Pa., was charged with two counts of assault and one count of attempted rape for the brutal beating at Social early Thursday.

{The} Pennsylvania man was arrested Friday night for savagely beating a young nurse inside a midtown pub because she wouldn't dance with him.

The 30-year-old, of Norwood, Pa., was caught on camera grabbing a beer at a nearby bodega shortly after brutally beating the woman inside a ladies' bathroom at an Eighth Ave. spot, Social, early Thursday, police said.

Oscar is standing by his snub of Farrah Fawcett.

In response, the Academy's Bruce Davis, who was responsible for the "in memoriam" segment says he stands by the decision about Fawcett's absence, had considered including her, but ultimately felt her "remarkable television work" would be more appropriately honored at the TV Academy's Emmys

Should you go Cold Turkey when cutting off the HRT?

Since the publication of the Women's Health Initiative results (JW Womens Health May 2 2006), hormone therapy (HT) has been recommended only for women who have substantial symptoms at menopause — and then only for as long as necessary to alleviate symptoms. But is HT best discontinued abruptly or by tapering?

To address this question....Women were randomized to stop HT abruptly or to take their usual doses every other day for 4 weeks and then stop.

Result: no difference, in terms of hot flash recurrence.

Last night I watched The Cove, which won best documentary at the Academy Awards on Sunday night. This is one amazing!!!! film and the the makers of this film are heroes. The film is on most pay/per/view now, but won't be for long. I'd say it is a family film for kids over the age of 10. Yes, you will have to watch one of the most heartbreaking scenes of all time, but it is not so much that you can't take it, but enough to know that in your soul dwells something more than just flesh and blood.
