The other night on TV I watched Rick Santorum and Jay Leno decide that a two-parent family, with a male and female married to one another as heads of household was best for kids. And, in fact, research backs this up; in terms child outcomes, this is the best environment for a child to grow up in. Before the howls come: please note that I am a single mother by choice; I had my child outside of marriage at the age of 36 and not by accident. I wanted a child for the same reasons other people want a child….
