torture

O Finds his inner W—torturous tall tales from the O stump

different and yet the same

While everyone goes bananas parsing Sotomayor, let’s bring the conversation back to where Obama really really wanted to steer it from: Torture. (I promise more TK on Sotomaybe soon!)
Mr. Obama, the man who says one thing with the absolutist’s flare of a preacher, and then does exactly another with the politician’s manipulative triangulation, has come down here on torture and rule of law: in Bush Land.
O is keeping rendition alive and well. (On the stump, O spit at W’s renditions.)

John Dickerson's Obama apology, followed by John Dickerson's Pelosi indictment

Slate header says Pelosi knew about h2oborading, then admits we don't yet know

There is no way that anyone could keep a straight face and say that John Dickerson, political writer for Slate, is not an extremely biased political writer. His work against Hillary Clinton and his promotional work for Barack Obama was so evident, that his defenders on Slate resorted to saying that Slate was biased, DUH, of course, because it was a site dedicated to commentary.

Naomi Wolf's Subliminal Sexism; Obama's stand down on torture and wire-tapping

women play this game, just less obviously, even to themselves

Last February, Naomi Wolf, thus and so “feminist,” gave Obama the benefit of the doubt. She withheld that benefit of the doubt from Hillary Clinton. Wolf wrote an Op/Ed on HuffPo titled: “Why Barack Obama Got My Vote”.
Her reason for going public was to let others know, they too, should give Obama the benefit of the doubt and vote Obama over Clinton.

Wolf’s Op/Ed was a ramble on the evils of the Military Commissions Act/renditions/torture, that fulminated this:
-------------------------

Obama’s torture stand up/stand down; more proof he’d have voted yea on war if it suited him politically

Obama's two sides to every position, Obama flapjacks

With a looming 9 trillion dollar deficit, one can imagine why Obama might not want to get tangled up on torturous talk about torture. Yet….
On the stump Obama talked the talk about torture; boy of boy, did he hate that torture shit. Compare and contrast Obama then to Obama now, now… when what he says actually counts.
