Fast Fact from Today’s WSJ: Unions outspent businesses by more than 2 to 1 in 2013. If money corrupts, then one would expect Mr. Reid and his colleagues to condemn the "corrupt" influence of unions in politics. And these Democrats presumably would brand liberal billionaire Tom Steyer's pledge to commit his political-action committee to spend $100 million to defeat Republicans in 2014 as especially corrupting—but Mr. Reid has instead welcomed the support.~ Theodore B. When politicians seek to restrict speech, they are invariably trying to protect their own incumbency
And more from another WST item:
Corporations and their employees also tend to spread their donations fairly evenly between the two major parties, unlike unions, which overwhelmingly assist Democrats. In 2008, Democrats received 55% of the $2 billion contributed by corporate PACs and company employees, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. Labor unions were responsible for $75 million in political donations, with 92% going to Democrats.

Harry Reid surely must have meant the unions when he complained about buying elections.
the $4.4 billion that unions had spent on politics from 2005 to 2011 alone, according to this newspaper. The Center for Responsive Politics' list of top all-time donors from 1989 to 2014 ranks Koch Industries No. 59. Above Koch were 18 unions, which collectively spent $620,873,623 more than Koch Industries ($18 million). Even factoring in undisclosed personal donations by the Koch brothers, they are a rounding error in union spending.
So now, in addition to a system in which organized labor spends "unlimited money" to "rig the system to benefit themselves" and "buy elections," (to quote Mr. Reid), Mr. Obama's IRS has made sure to shut up anyone who might compete with unions or complain about them.
Sen. Harry Reid is the REAL Dirty Harry and remember, that through property taxes you are compelled to fund Democrat Union Spending. How about this: why not demand that not one red cent of property tax money be used EVER to fund the election of Democrats.
Reid is the man who refuses to release he personal tax returns. But he after all is above the law, and he uses his position to assure that your tax dollars fund the Demcrat Machine.
