With a looming 9 trillion dollar deficit, one can imagine why Obama might not want to get tangled up on torturous talk about torture. Yet….
On the stump Obama talked the talk about torture; boy of boy, did he hate that torture shit. Compare and contrast Obama then to Obama now, now… when what he says actually counts.

In office, when it counts, Obama sorta still hates torture, but he finds it pretty darn useful as well. Make NO mistake that when Obama released memos on the prior admin’s Enhanced Interrogation Techniques, Obama was playing politics with torture. Score Point, Democrats. Then… on the heels of this O admin Memo Puke, Obama said: torture bad, but no prosecutions of those who wielded the whip. No need to spend "time and energy laying blame for the past,” Obama said. (Never mind the blame game is what got him elected and was the essence of his Inauguration Speech.)
Then…Obama sent out his pit bull Rahm Emanuel to tell America Obama did NOT want to prosecute those who thunkup the torture policy. All’s well that ends well, says Mr. Obama.
Then....apparently taking is walking papers from the liberal press who have offered up condemnation of Mr. Obama’s Hard Talk, Soft Walk on torture, Obama tore up Rahm’s statement of MoveON.torture and said he wanted his Main Man, Eric Holder at Justice, to go GITTEM! (Whip holders themselves excused, of course.) This flimflam is becoming classic Obama. Remember campaign finance (I will/will not use public funding.) or howabout Fisa wiretaps? Both perfect examples of : I could no more disown Rev. Racist Sexist than…oh wait, Yes I CAN. Or Obama’s No More Lobbyists, unless I waiver them!
Say Anything is and has been Obama’s platform.
But...this post is not about torture.

It is not to take a stand one way or the other on this issue. Rather, we want to use this post to point out to all those who say they support a female in the White House, but who supported Obama over Hillary b/c of her Authorization Vote.
The only essential difference btw HRC and BHO was this vote—that is she HAD to vote and he gave a stump speech on the issue.
Anyone who looked at Obama’s massive number of “Present” Votes on contentious issues OR his skipping the vote on Iran’s Revolutionary Guard status and who has an IQ above 85 has the ability to understand that Obama would have voted exactly as HRC if it were politically expedient for him to do so.
But women who are saddled with unrecognized/unadmitted sexism are and were determined to give Obama every benefit of the doubt. For Hillary they gave raspberries, even though it was a different time in which she voted and she had to think ahead to an election. Obama has always demonstrated his willingness to say one thing and do another, but…sexism is so ingrained that, for many, Obama’s imperfections endeared him to them while Hillary’s were unforgivable. Women who say they voted BHO over HRC had ample evidence of the way Obama would have voted on the war if he’d needed to in order to win the elections.

We hope that like so many who voted for Bush out of misguided rationalizations, those women who voted for Obama over Hillary will do the very hard look at what allowed them to overlook his imperfections and amplify hers. When there is actually a level playing field for male vs. female expectations, then and only then will women break into American Life with the respect and power they deserve!
