Femisex has just Must Linked to a new website that is par excellence—The Center for Reproductive Rights. And on that website is a call for Obama to rid America of the Hyde Amendment; the call was issued last month. The Hyde Amendment is an abomination against poor women, and Obama came out strongly against it on the campaign trail. He is currently silent on the issue. Flip/Flop the Obama Abortion Hop, step to the Wright, cadence to Kaine, dip cash to the White House Office Faith-Based pro-force crowd, dolcedo to Hyde, tipsybyebye to funds for repro freedom in the Spending Bill.

For thirty-six years, women in this country have had the right to obtain safe, legal abortion. But since 1977 when Hyde was first enacted, low-income women have been deprived of that right by anti-choice politicians intent on doing away with a woman's access to abortion altogether.

The Hyde Amendment prohibits federal funds from being used to pay for abortion except under extremely limited circumstances. As a result, a woman who relies on Medicaid cannot get an abortion in most circumstances—even if her health is jeopardized by her pregnancy—unless she is able to cover the entire cost out-of-pocket.

Under Hyde, a poor woman must often delay obtaining a medically necessary abortion while she tries to raise the funds. The longer she waits, the more it costs and the greater the risks to her health.

These restrictions patently discriminate against women. Abortion is a health service only used by women, and it is the only medically necessary service not covered by Medicaid for instance.

On this 2009 anniversary of the landmark Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade, the Center for Reproductive Rights calls on President Barack Obama to strike the Hyde Amendment.

Ha....On the Anniversary of Roe v. Wade, Obama was utterly silent, out of “respect” for those who would enslave women. The day after Roe’s anniversary, Obama did the politically necessary thing (as a democrat) and tossed the Global Gag Rule. But he has not done the thing that would mean REAL Change, and toss out the fusty Hyde Amendment.
Remember folks, by legitimizing those who would enslave the bodies of women, Obama (think Rick Warren and Tim Kaine, pro-force head of the DNC!) keeps women Wright where he wants them...submissive to the Blue party, or as Tom Brokaw so gleefully pointed out...women have no where to else to go!)

What will women want for their fealty to the Blue Party?
Well.....The folks that brung you are waiting for you to dance with them Mr. Obama. Will you? Do this (toss Hyde)…plus get rid of sexist Jon Favreau, pro-force Tim Kaine and Femisex will no longer call the White House the Dark House. In the meantime, the lights… they is still out at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
