Why Can't the Left hate Islam for all the correct reasons?

Disclaimer: all religion sucks when it comes to treatment of women; religion (as written by males) gives women second class status as human beings. Fact, some cultures and the religions that fester/bloom in certain societies are far worse than others in the manner in which they treat women. This week TPM wrote on the bad bad of Islamophobia. Let's pause a moment to consider why apartheid was OK to vilify (let's face it all societies segregate, just in varing levels of badness) but female enslavement by fiat of religions is not to be hated or even openly dissed because....drum roll.....irony alert: how fucked up it is to hate people based upon their religion even when that religion is used daily to hate and abuse and torture half of it's population.
(Blah blah blah to those who say to me it is pure bad bad to diss a religion that has been perverted from its more pure form into misogyny that enslaves women, be....cause....I would shoot back if societies openly hated on a religion that widely accepts and tolerate its bad bad treatment of half its members...then that religion might be shamed back to its better intent, or evolve toward a more enlightened form of itself. )

Ok so maybe it is not such a bad thing to hate on Islam for its bad bad, fully accepted maltreatment of women, just as it was OK to hate slavery and apartheid.

Let's review:
From CFR:

Sharia, or Islamic law, influences the legal code in most Muslim countries. A movement to allow sharia to govern personal status law, a set of regulations that pertain to marriage, divorce, inheritance, and custody, is even expanding into the West.

Marriage and divorce are the most significant aspects of sharia,

In sharia, there are categories of offenses: those that are prescribed a specific punishment in the Quran, known as hadd punishments

Despite official reluctance to use hadd punishments, vigilante justice still takes place. Honor killings, murders committed in retaliation for bringing dishonor on one's family, are a worldwide problem. While precise statistics are scarce, the UN estimates thousands of women are killed annually in the name of family honor (National Geographic). Other practices that are woven into the sharia debate, such as female genital mutilation, adolescent marriages, polygamy, and gender-biased inheritance rules, elicit as much controversy.

What it should elicit is condemnation!
From BBC:

in Saudi Arabia, a women's testimony in court is worth half that of a man's testimony, according to a Human Rights Watch report in 2002.

Under the so-called zina (fornication) law in Pakistan, extramarital sex is punishable by public whipping or even stoning to death. [Guess whose skull is crushed by rocks, Mary or Mohammed?]

If a woman is raped, she runs a high risk of being charged with zina, particularly if she becomes pregnant. In order to prove an absence of consent, however, a woman is required to provide four witnesses to the rape, a near impossible task.

One case: a 30 year-old divorcee, was convicted by a Sharia court in March 2002 for bearing a child out of wedlock. The charges against the alleged father of Amina's baby, however, were dropped after he denied having had sexual relations with her.

With the help of several human rights and women's organisations, Amina filed an appeal against her death sentence. Despite this, her conviction was upheld in August 2002.

Maybe it is time to start a bit of Islam hating, maybe it is PAST time. We hated Slavery in the South and we hated Apartheid in South Africa, so why can't we hate Sharia in Islamoland?

Seems to me a bit of Islamophobia for all the Right reasons (the freakn' misogyny) is not a bad human act, but the act of liberation just as the guns of Gettysburg ended a terrible human conditions for another group that was once as half human as women are now in so many Islamic countries.

I had to pen this in 10 minutes, but I hope someone things seriously about putting together a long nice essay on Hating the Hate of Islam towards is Women.

Perhaps here readers can add a few examples of the torture and abuse and demeaning everyday life events women must endure under/in Islamic society.

And for the house Negroes (read Feministing idiots) who want to tell me how great their master is to them....don't waste your breath, because if anyone had given such thought weight, we'd all still live with a nice house Negro to clean our bathrooms for free.

The guard, Malik Mumtaz

The guard, Malik Mumtaz Hussain Qadri, confessed to assassinating Taseer because "he did blasphemy of the Prophet Mohammed," said Naeem Iqbal, spokesman for Islamabad police. Qadri told police Taseer had described the blasphemy law as "the black laws."

The blasphemy law makes it a crime punishable by death to insult Islam, the Quran or the Prophet Mohammed.

The punishment was carried

The punishment was carried out by hundreds of the victims’ neighbors in a village in northern Kunduz Province, according to Nadir Khan, 40, a local farmer and Taliban sympathizer, who was interviewed by telephone. Even family members were involved, both in the stoning and in tricking the couple into returning after they had fled.

I came across this but didn't

I came across this but didn't have the stomach to watch, so caveat is I don't know how bad it will be to watch. http://www.apostatesofislam.com/media/stoning.htm

Well said! The non-Left Left

Well said! The non-Left Left is committed to political correctness even at the expense of millions of women who suffer so greatly under Islam. The true life story depicted in the Stoning of Sonoya M. is a great example. The movie was ignored by media.
